We are very happy to welcome you onto the farm for your holiday! We hope you enjoy your stay but to keep you safe we would like to share again a few general rules while you’re staying at The Coach House to ensure a safe and pleasant stay.
GENERAL SAFETY ON-SITE
1. Guests are welcome to use all the facilities within The Coach House and its area including seating area by the paddock and patio area/driveway. Guests must not AT ANY TIME explore other areas of the farm such as, but not limited to, the farmyard, the other buildings on the farm, the garden or Farmhouse grounds, the paddock. These areas are strictly prohibited at all times. The Farmyard includes the roadway into the yard that turns off the direct driveway route to The Coach House. You are permitted to enter and leave the farm with a direct access from the road to The Coach House, and you are permitted to stay in the fenced area around the perimeter of The Coach House. We appreciate you respecting this – it’s for your safety.
2. There is deep water in the hay paddock next to The Coach House. This is strictly a prohibited area to guests.
3. The farm is a natural environment – and while everything has been done to make your stay as safe as possible, please note you accept all risks by being present in this environment.
4. Please note there are areas of uneven ground around the site in this natural environment.
5. Please respect all Covid guidelines and adhere to government rules. At present it is recommended that you scan the track and trace QR code included in this folder each day of your stay.
6. Farm traffic – please be aware of farm machinery moving around on site that may cross your path when entering or leaving the site.
7. Harvest – during July/August/September there is an increased amount of traffic on-site due to harvest. Please take care when arriving or departing the property by foot or by vehicle and be vigilant for farm machinery moving around the site that may cross your path. These movements can be at all times of the day and night.
8. Children MUST be supervised AT ALL TIMES. As mentioned in our T&C’s failure to adhere to this will result in immediate termination of your booking with no refund. This is for their safety.
9. Please adhere to all signage on site.
10. There’s a first aid kit under the sink should you need it. In an emergency please use the numbers provided.
11. Should you need anything please use the contact numbers provided in the guest pack.
12. To see a copy of our risk assessments and health and safety related policies, please ask.
DOGGY GUESTS – INFORMATION FOR THEIR OWNERS
We are dog lovers and we just have a few notes and rules for their stay here to keep your woofer safe and to allow us to have dogs join their humans on holiday here!
· All dogs must be kept on leads when outside the property and on the grounds of Carr Dyke Farm – AT ALL TIMES. This may sound strict, but there is moving traffic on the farm and this is entirely for the safety of your dog. Any violation of this rule will result in immediate termination of your stay with no refund. We welcome dogs to the farm and we’re huge dog lovers, but we would like to ensure they are kept safe and away from our animals on the farm. There are plenty of areas directly off the farm to walk your dog off-lead.
In future we hope to offer a pen for dogs to be let off to have a quick sniff and a wee but unfortunately it isn’t ready just yet.
· All dog poop must be cleaned up – you can even use the bags provided and put them in the black bin. Failure to do this will result in a reduction of your refund from your security deposit. (It may sound obvious - but unfortunately not all dog owners are responsible, and we’d just like to not find any unexpected ‘poo bombs’ when walking around the property.)
· Dogs must NEVER be left inside the property alone for long periods – we realise it’s hot in summer, and it may be better for your woofer/s to not come to the grocery shops with you – please close the bedroom doors before going out (to keep them from having a sneaky snooze on the bed). If we find a dog has been left in the property unattended for long periods (more than a couple of hours), this will also result in a termination of your booking.
· Should your dog come back from walkies a little dirty please find sponges, doggy shampoo and the collapsible bucket under the sink to wash your four-legged friend before entering the property. A doggy towel is also provided on the hooks in the hallway. If they are a bit soggy, please keep them away from the carpeted rooms and furniture until they’ve dried off.
· What to do if your dog escapes? – please call us and explain the situation so we can find the safest way to retrieve or find your dog. PLEASE DO NOT go into prohibited areas of the farm.
· Sorry, but dogs must not be allowed on the beds at any time. This is so other guests can enjoy The Coach House as much as you have and to protect the furniture as much as possible. We appreciate dogs might find it hard to stick to the rules if they’re used to something different at home, so please use the throws for snoozes on the sofa - but we ask you to keep them off the beds as white linen, paw prints and fluff don’t mix so well and if they get ruined we’ll have to make a charge :(
