The Stables is situated on the grounds of our working arable farm. Dating back to at least Victorian times, this building would have originally housed the draft horses that worked the land here years ago. It was converted some years ago into a cottage, and has recently been renovated with a modern-country aesthetic. Views from the cottage, which is all one one level, extend out onto the farm land and the famous Car Dyke is located nearby. It’s an ideal base for exploring the local area, whether it be for group get-togethers thanks to its adaptable sleeping space, golf or cycling holidays, or family trips. Up-to two dogs are welcome in The Stables.
Facilities.
The Stables is a self-catering, self contained unit on the grounds of the farm. It features two bedrooms - both with an adaptable space of a twin bed or a super-king bed set-up. The property enjoys one bathroom with a beautiful roll top bath and separate shower. Cooking facilities are with a modern fan oven and electric hob, with dining for four people. The sitting room offers a comfortable space for relaxing during your stay. A Smart TV with Freeview is available, and WiFi in the property. Parking for 2-3 cars is available behind the property. Patio doors from the living area lead out to a patio area with views down across the local area, while a fenced, grassed garden area is at the front of the property. We welcome up-to two well behaved dogs at this property - we’d appreciate it if you can enquire with us first. We love dogs, but we do have a few basic rules to keep them safe on the farm. All dogs must be on leads whenever outside of the property, and must never be left alone for long periods inside the property. They are welcome to stay throughout the property when they are clean, although we ask guests to keep dirty doggy paws out of the bedroom where possible, and not on the beds (but we provide throws for the sofa so you can snuggle in an evening). There’s plenty of nearby walks for the woofers and we’re sure they’ll love being cozied up with you on their holibobs in the cottage.
(Please note Carr Dyke Farm is a working farm environment - there will be increased farm traffic/noise from movement of machinery/equipment such as our corn drier during busy periods such as harvest in July/August/September. The farmyard is a prohibited area but located on the property. While we don't believe this will affect your stay, please be aware of this).
