Looking for some inspiration on places to go or things to do nearby?
We offer lots of detailed information and inspiration in our holiday cottages of places and attractions to visit - but if you’d like to plan ahead, here’s a few suggestions of places in the local area that might be perfect to start your holiday with us. We are perfectly located for visiting the Cathedral city of Lincoln, Sleaford, Grantham, Boston, and the Lincolnshire Wolds including Horncastle and Louth. We are just 50 minutes from the coast with beaches such as Huttoft, Mablethorpe, Sutton-On-Sea within driving distance, as well as popular locations such as Skegness, Ingoldmells, Grimsby and Cleethorpes. For cyclists we are close to the National Cycle Network route that runs along the River Witham into Lincoln and Boston, as well as the Lincolnshire Wolds and a plethora of interesting cycling routes. For walkers, again we are in driving distance to the Wolds, and offer some walks from the gate of the farm. More information on cycling in Lincolnshire can be found here
We are also perfectly located for Aviation lovers with active airbases RAF Coningsby & Waddington close by, as well as RAF Digby and RAF Cranwell. There are a great many nearby bases you can visit that were active during WWII, with Lincolnshire earning its name as ‘Bomber County’ and home of the Lancaster Bomber. Coningsby is also home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which is often seen flying nearby, while The Red Arrows are often seen in the distance practicing their air show from their home base in Waddington. We are very close to many aviation museums such as: the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln, Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre, Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Centre, Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre, Digby Museum, Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby where ‘Just Jane’ is based and more. The likes of Woodhall Spa, which was home to the officers mess famous ‘Dambusters’ 617 squadron, also has its links to aviation history with The Petwood Hotel, The Lancaster Inn at Woodhall Spa and more.
